It's been a pretty trying 2008, so far.

I get a lot of time to myself, either it be driving to/from a client site or working late at the office.  The result of which gives me a lot of time to reflect on the things that has been going on.

It's now the end of April and since the beginning of 2008 I've seen two friends pass on, a person conquer breast cancer, another person deal with their alcoholism, couples trying their hardest to have a baby, people struggling to make ends meet, houses foreclosed on, and so on.

Basically, the first half of 2008 has been a whole lot of gut wrenching emotional trials for people close to me.  I would be lying if I said these events haven't, personally, brought me down...  or that it hasn't made it difficult to focus on the regular day to day stuff.  It has, but surprisingly, not enough to dampen my spirits or diminish my drive to enjoy life.  In fact, it's reinforced and strengthen them.  In every case, as each obstacle is dealt with, a new and more exciting positive thing happens.

I think the reason for this upbeat attitude, is simply because of my goal to simplify and take the approach of addressing things day by day, one issue at a time.  There's also the constant and comforting reminder of being surrounded by friends and family that are always willing to join together and act as support whenever someone is in need.

So, here I share some of the lessons I've learned over the past four months:

  1. Take things one day at a time
  2. Be thankful for what you have
  3. Don't regret the past
  4. Don't worry about the future
  5. Live life in the now
  6. Let loved ones know that you love them
  7. A smile costs nothing, but can be a priceless gift to another person
  8. Get a dog
  9. Have a party planner put together my funeral arrangements

Yeah, I have a thing for red heads...

back in the late 80's, Tiffany was no exception.

Meat Loaf... how could you?!?!

First of all, if you're going to sell out, don't sell out for a piece of crap product, like the GoPhone.  Second of all, don't do it with TiffanyMeat Loaf, what were you thinking?

sigh...

It's not over 'til it's over.

I just came back with an 80+ point play to take a win away from Sherrie.  Who has been consistently kicking my ass for the past couple of months.

I actually didn't know I won until I saw the "Jude D WINS!" message.  ;)  Of course, upon finding out a victory dance was in order.

So, the people in my office think I'm crazy.

I guess it goes to show that even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile.

New "High School Musical" Cast

I'm a big Disney fan. Always have been. I'm sure it has everything to do with my parent taking my sister and me to Disney World every other year to visit rides like Space Mountain, The Carousel of Progress and The Haunted Mansion. Not to mention the numerous times we got to hang out with Mickey Mouse and his crew.

To me, Disney World is a kid's dream come true... And of course, we've been taking our kids there too... so, it's become a sort of family tradition to get there at least once every three years.

It's obvious that Disney has figured out the formula for success. And this formula seems to work equally for both kids and adults alike.

Currently, the phenomenon known as "High School Musical" has invaded our household. So, it's of no surprise that Vivian would get something "High School Musical" related for her birthday.

From here aunt and uncle, Martini Jeanne and The Fog, she received "High School Musical Sing It" for the Wii. And let me tell you, it's pretty awesome. It's pretty much a karaoke game and all songs are from both HSM and HSM2. Basically, you earn points and a grade for hitting the right notes, at the right pitch, at the right time. Better the performance, you open up new options and extras throughout the game.

The picture, herein, is of Sher and the kids singing some tune from the game. You could see the kids being hams in my flickr set located here: http://www.flickr.com/gp/53796034@N00/7R3466
