This site has been around for awhile. However considering how things are going with the economy, I figured it wouldn't hurt posting this up as today's diversion.
"MissingMoney.com is an online database of governmental unclaimed property records." It's officially endorsed by National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators and participating states and provinces.
For those of you who are curious, Ohio is a participating state. *AND* Alberta Canada is on the list as well.
The process is pretty simple... enter in your Last Name and the State that you're in and hit "go". Anything that your search criteria closely matches will show up.
If you could claim it, you enter in your information and a form will print up for you to send to your respective state's department of commerce.
Go for it... you might just be able to afford that tank of gas next week.

Checked it out - lo and behold, my home state is holding some money I didn't know I was due! Tx 4 the surprise today, I needed it.
